Rainy season

It's hard to believe that June is already here! June is supposed to be the start of the rainy season here. This means increased humidity and heat. Honestly, I am NOT looking forward to that. It's hard for me to keep track of time here. In Michigan you had very distinct seasons. Here the seasons are "hot and humid" and Very Hot and Very Humid."

Our car is Still not reparied. It's been in the shop almost 3 months now. We have to share Abernathy's truck with them. They are so kind and patient about this. It looks like we may have to get the part we need from Guatemala.

Craig is headed out this afternoon to teach a young pastors class. The class is in San Marco, about 1 1/2 hours away. He had to rent a car to get there because Abernathy's had to drive to Belize City to pick up a pastor from the airport that is coming from the US to preach a church dedication in the village of Armenia.

This is going to be a very busy weekend. Tomorrow morning we have to decorate the church for a wedding on Saturday. Saturday afternoon we head out to the village of Armenia to attend their church dedication. This village is about 2 hours away. Then, instead of a regular Sunday morning schedule, we will have the wedding.  This precious couple has 3 children and have been together for many years but have never had the opportunity to have a religious church ceremony. The "bride" is so excited. She asked Linda to make her "dat white ting you were on your head" to go with her bridal gown. She had a hard time finding a gown since she lives in the jungle. I am very curious to see what she found. These people combine a regular church service with their wedding ceremony, so the wedding will be Sunday morning and last about 3 hours. We will have pics of the wedding in the blog for you to see too.  Later on that afternoon, we head back to Armenia for the second night of their dedication service. A pastor from the US is going to preach the dedication. His church donated the money to build this church.

I just want to say 'Hi' to all my Philippino sisters that will be reading our blog. I love and miss you all. My time with you in Greece and Cyprus was precious. You changed my life in a profound and wonderful way. Thank you.

  1. Bro. & Sis. McKenzie, I was able to get your blog contact from Brandon and just finished reading your entire series of posts, so wonderful. It's such a blessing that your sharing your experiences with us all. I sure miss you both but see how beautifully you're being used of God, it's were He wants you. To see how much you're blessing the precious people in the various villages in Belize is a joy. I don't know if I could make the sacrifices you've both are making, it truly reflects Christ in you. As God sees he is faithful to supply. Your family is doing well and living Kingdom minded as it seems to get ever crazier in this world. I don't know how up to date your are with U.S. news, but if you aren't it's probably a good thing, if you know what I mean. I'll be praying for your various needs (car, break in the heat and covering for your travels each week). Pastor & Sister W are off to be with their children for a while in expectation of the new addition. Pastor is doing better incase you haven't heard he took a nasty fall but God kept it from being worse than it was, thank the Lord! If I can send you anything let me know and I will try, I hear it's hard to get many things there, but as you say God is helping you with what you have, like you mentioned with teaching the children. If there is a treat or need I could send you or Bro. Mckenzie please let me know, and I'll do my best. I don't know if you can text but I could send you my number, if you want. I'm getting ready for a new quarter in Toddlers and it happens to be a Treasure Island theme, so will have you both in mind as I'm setting up a tropical Island theme. God bless you both and will comment again soon and keep you in prayer, I don't know if you have my contact info but if you need it mention it in a blog, I don't know if I should write it here since I don't know who views these? Love in Jesus Name! Sis. Dee S. (FACT)
